WHEN I LEARNED TO SIMPLIFY MY HEAD... AND STEP INTO MY HEART <3
When I had crippling social anxiety... everyone tried to "help" me by cluttering my head with shit...
I was given
- SCRIPTS of what I should say...
- QUESTIONS that I should ask...
- TECHNIQUES to debate with my thoughts...
However, I ONLY HAD ONE BRAIN.
I wasn't able to both have a conversation with someone AND deal with all this cognitive clutter in my head!
.
So, what was the answer then... if it didn't lie in cognitive clutter?
My solution was to SIMPLIFY MY HEAD... and step into my HEART.
Here are the 4 steps that I used to do this:
.
STEP 1. REMOVE the clutter from your head.
- Throw out the script,
- the lists,
- the complicated techniques...
.
STEP 2. SIMPLIFY and EMPTY your head.
- Be HONEST with people.
- SAY what you think and feel.
- Dare to BE who you really are.
.
STEP 3. Step into your HEART... and feel POSITIVE emotions towards YOURSELF and your LIFE.
For example,
- Love your personality
- Love your strengths
- Love your interests
- Love your life.
.
STEP 4. Remain in your HEART... and feel POSITIVE emotions towards OTHER PEOPLE.
For example...
- Feel Love towards others
- Feel Compassion towards others
- Feel Empathy towards others
- Feel Curiosity towards others...
.
We only have ONE BRAIN... and this brain is having a conversation with someone...
So, I have found that the easiest way to deal with cognitive clutter is to SIMPLIFY our heads...
step into our HEARTS...
and be PRESENT with the person in front of us! <3
I hope you found this helpful. :)
